SAC-MED is shared-ride public non-emergency medical appointment transportation for senior, disabled and general public passengers. SAC-MED operates Tuesdays and Thursdays for medical appointments in Sacramento between 10am and 2pm.
How does it work?
SAC-MED rides must be scheduled in advance by calling (530) 642-3696 between 9:00am and 3:00pm. SAC-MED rides must be scheduled at least 4 business days prior to the non-emergency medical appointment and no more than 14 days in advance.
You will receive a confirmation call back by 4:00pm the day before your scheduled trip to specify the exact pickup location and time.
Where are the pickup and drop off locations?
SAC-MED is a flexible service that brings you directly to the curb at your destination in Sacramento. The pickup and drop off locations in El Dorado County can be chosen from the following:
- Placerville Station (Mosquito Road)
- Missouri Flat Transfer Center (near WalMart)
- Central Transit Center (Diamond Springs)
- Ponderosa Road (Wild Chaparral) Park and Ride
- Bel Air Shopping Center Bus Shelter
- El Dorado Hills Park and Ride
If you need a ride to the El Dorado County pickup location, you’ll want to schedule a separate Dial-A-Ride trip from your origin to the SAC-MED pickup location.
How much does it cost?
The fare for SAC-MED is $10.00 one-way. If passengers need assistance, they must provide a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) and include that information when they make their reservation. PCA’s travel at no charge.
