El Dorado Transit’s Dial-A-Ride is the County’s premier, life-line transportation service, primarily for seniors and persons with disabilities. Dial-A-Ride is a curb-to-curb, shared ride service, by reservation only. Dial-A-Ride operates seven days a week, with rides available between 7:30 AM and 5:00 PM on the weekdays and 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays.
Once registered, making a Dial-A-Ride reservation is easy. Requests are accepted up to three business days in advance, by dialing (530) 642-3696 or (916) 933-7766 between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM. Reservations are booked on a first-come/first-served basis with seniors and persons with disabilities given priority. General passengers are accommodated on a “space-available” basis.
Dial-A-Ride fares are based on a zoned system and range from $2.00 to $7.00 per one-way trip, depending on the distance traveled. Seniors, persons with disabilities and Medicare Cardholders pay a reduced fare.

Service Area and Fares
You can find your Dial-A-Ride fare and confirm which zones you’re traveling within by using the Interactive Map.
Passengers must call at least 24 hours before the scheduled pickup to cancel their ride. Non-canceled rides will be declared a “no show”.
Any pickup “no-show” will result in the automatic cancellation of the return trip. Unless dispatch is contacted, it is assumed that the passenger would not need a return ride.
Passengers accumulating 3 no shows in a 30-day period will be suspended from using the shared ride service for 14 days. Passengers accumulating 6 no shows in a 90-day period will be suspended from using the shared ride service for 30 days. Prior to any suspension, a written warning of the proposed suspension period and the reasons for it will be provided to the passenger.
