El Dorado Transit is introducing Tap2Ride, a new contactless fare payment option on all local and commuter buses, Dial-A-Ride and ADA paratransit service vehicles.
With Tap2Ride, you can simply tap your contactless debit or credit card or mobile wallet on the Tap2Ride device as you board—no need for cash or paper tickets!
Discounted Fares for Seniors and Medicare Card Holders
Eligible riders can receive a 50% discount on their fare by linking their contactless payment card to their discount eligibility through the California Integrated Travel Project (Cal-ITP) web tool.
To sign up for the discount:
Visit benefits.calitp.org and select El Dorado Transit as your provider.
- Seniors (65+) and Medicare cardholders verify their identity using a state-issued ID through Login.gov.
- Medicare cardholders must have an online account with Medicare.gov.
Once your discount is linked, simply tap your registered card or mobile wallet when you board, and the discount will be applied automatically.
